The Story Behind Nature’s Miracle Soap
From pandemic insight to ancestral tradition. How a family in Northern New Mexico turned goat milk into healing, handcrafted soap.
Our Roots
We’re native New Mexicans, with deep family roots across Rio Arriba County: Truchas, Cordova, Chimayo, Española. Our story is rooted in this land.
We’ve lived on our farm in Truchas since 2006. In 2017, we began raising goats , not for business, but simply to nourish our family with raw, natural milk.
Then came the pandemic.
As store shelves emptied and people scrambled for hand sanitizer and chemical-based soaps, we realized something deeper:
These products were everywhere, but instead of helping, they dried out skin, weakened immunity, and flooded our homes with synthetic ingredients.
That didn’t sit right with us.
And that’s when everything changed.
A Better Way to Get Clean
That moment sparked a question:
What if we could cleanse our bodies in a way that healed, not harmed?
I began researching the benefits of goat milk for skin. Meanwhile, my mother had taken up soapmaking as a creative outlet. She had always leaned into holistic wellness. Our home filled with essential oils, herbal rollers, and plant remedies.
We realized we could do more than just make soap.
We could create something that genuinely boosts the immune system.
Something that was safe, effective, and natural.
We blended goat milk with medicinal-grade essential oils, and Milagro Goat Farm Soap was born.
A Deeper Legacy
As our soapmaking evolved, we uncovered something extraordinary:
My great-grandmother, from Cordova, was a curanderisma — a traditional healer.
She used to make tallow soap from fire ash — the most raw and ancient version of the cleansing craft. It wasn’t just in our hands, it was in our blood.
What began as a pandemic pivot became a return to something ancestral.
This wasn’t just product-making.
This was a continuation of lineage, and a spiritual calling.
What Matters Most
Everything we do is rooted in:
Craftsmanship — small batch, handmade, tested
Wellness — hypoallergenic, immune-supportive, safe for sensitive skin
Heritage — a legacy of healing through natural means
But above all, we believe in what soap represents.
Soap doesn’t discriminate.
It doesn’t care about race, age, gender, or background.
It exists to clean, to restore, and to serve.
That’s why we do this.
To honor our Heavenly Father, who gave us everything we need from this earth.
To steward what we’ve been given.
And to share that gift, one bar at a time.
